In Isiolo town, a lorry hauling cement reportedly crushed a bodaboda rider to death.
Approximately 6 kilometres from the accident site, in Maili Nne, Meru county, the trailer reportedly had a break failure.
According to reports, the trailer struck a second vehicle 300 meters from the scene before veering off course and striking a Toyota Land Cruiser owned by one of the MCAs, a pickup, and a truck.
The bodaboda rider was struck by the trailer as it attempted to avoid colliding with an oncoming car, according to locals who saw the horrifying road accident.
Witnesses allegedly tried to warn the rider about the trailer, but he became disoriented and as a result, got caught up in the collision.
Isiolo town was plunged into gloom as hundreds of witnesses to the accident broke down in tears when they saw the rider's corpses scattered across the road.
As the police detained the trailer driver and his turnboy to help in their investigation, the deceased's body was brought to the mortuary.
