People Encouraged to Stay Indoors: Heavy Rains.

Sometimes or years back we didn't expect rain in January but this year it has turned to be a year of blessings where we expect heavy rain. People are being informed of it so that Incase of any destruction the rain brings they are aware of it.

People have been advised by the Department of Civil Protection and the Meteorological Services Department (MSD) to stay inside during the anticipated thunderstorms from Friday through Sunday.

From Friday through Sunday, there is supposed to be "heavy rain along north of the main watershed and the Eastern highlands, and flash flooding is predicted in regions with saturated soils, marshes, impermeable surfaces, and along river basins," the MSD advises.

Strong gusts could blow off roofs and bring down trees, she continued, therefore it is advised that people stay inside.

If traveling is unavoidable, use cautious as visibility may be compromised and hidden flood threats may exist.

It additionally advised people against attempting to drive or walk across flooding rivers.
