A seventeen-year-old girl from Kisumu county is still over the moon after she acted as a police boss for a day when she was offered the opportunity by Kisumu County Police Boss Richard Ng'eno who handed her the office duties.
The girl who has only been identified as Jane is a pupil at Kit Mikayi Secondary school in Kisumu county and could not hide her joy as she took over the reigns at the Police headquarters and claimed that this opportunity accorded to her will now motivate her to work hard in her studies.
"I feel good. I did not know that I will come all the way from Seme to come and sit on this chair. It is a challenge to me that I will go back to school and work and hope that one day I will sit on this chair," she stated.
Jane is seen issuing orders to the juniors when the first assignment came in with Richard Ng'eno thereafter expressing his optimism that the initiative between the National Police Service and Plan International Kenya will motivate female students in the country to pursue leadership roles.
The Kisumu County Police Boss further added that the program was built around three pillars aimed at empowering the girl child who faced challenges when making career choices.
