Police sergeant found dead, five people sustained serious after speeding matatu lost control and rammed onto six cars
Nairobi Traffic Commander Joshua Omukata confirmed his death saying he was hit by overspeeding matatu at around 5pm on Friday evening.
"A matatu that was moving at a high speed down the hilly road lost control and rammed onto six other cars when the accident happened," Joshua said.
Witnesses accounts revealed that the police cop identified as Mustafa Lolo was in duty along the busy road when he was hit and run over by the overspeeding matatu.
The matatu at the same time rammed a wall of a commercial property near the area before landing in a ditch.
At least five passengers escaped with serious injuries in the 5pm accident.
They were rushed to the hospital with multiple injuries.
The driver of the ill-fated vehicle narrated to the police that the matatu suffered breaks failure, hence the crash.
