Kinoo Road traffic officer Alex Mwangi confirmed the Monday accident saying that it involving two saloon cars at around 9pm.
According to Mwangi’s reports seen by the press, the white Toyota Corolla car of registration number plate KCT 345F was heading towards Nairobi town from Thika town and another moving from Nairobi town to Kinoo town when the accident happened.
"The crash involved two saloon cars both heading to different directions. The Toyota Corolla car was travelling to Nairobi town from Thika town and the other one was moving from Nairobi town to Kinoo when the crash occurred," he said.
He added, "The driver from the white Toyota Corolla car died on the spot as three occupants from the other escaped with serious injuries."
The three survivors were rushed to Sycamore hospital for emergency treatment.
The body of the deceased was transferred to Chiromo hospital morgue pending autopsy and further identification.
Police have launched investigations into the Monday night accident.
Mr Mwangi urged motorists to be careful on the road, especially with the on going construction along Waiyaki Way.
