This team will be responsible for checking bar closure time, licences checks and subsequent arrest if any.
The Regional Commander further restricted police in civilian attire operating in civilian vehicle from carrying out any of the above.
According to the Regional Commander, any officers found in civilian operating against this rules will be termed as carrying out illegal operations and extortion of the public.
This will be termed as a criminal activity which will attract a certain penalty.
More so, officers not based in this region have been bared from carrying out any operations in this area.
Private vehicles have been banned from conducting any operations, and if this happens, the station OCS will be required to give an explanation.
This is a relief to bar owners who have been complaining of police harassment and extortion by police in civilian attire ad operating in public vehicles.
