Student arrested for faking his own abduction.
Police officers have arrested a student in Awendo, Migori County who faked his own abduction in order to get some money from her mother
The 22-year old student is a form 4 student in a secondary school in Kisii County.
He went into hiding 'abduction site' on 5th January, after he had wished her mother a good night at 9 pm.
The boy returned home after his trick to cone her mother failed as the mother did not send the ransom.
The police commander, Mathias Pombo in Awendo sub-county police station said that the mother of the boy had reported the missing boy on date 6 January.
The boy confessed that he had been advised by his friend about the trick. He had smeared some blood, cow's blood, that he had bought from a nearby market on his vest which he dropped behind before he left her mothers compound.
He confesed that he slept on maize plantation on the night that he ran from home, he trekked the following day and spend two days in an unfinished building, he went to friends home to spend a night before going back home.
He claimed that he wanted to coerce her mother, a single mother, to raise Ksh 20000 which he could have used to pay his fee balance. His mother denied to have such a fee balance and termed this embarrassing.
