It is a sad morning at the King'ong'o GK prisons in Nyeri, after a police officer who was reported missing on Wednesday was found dead.
According to Sources, Boniface Mwanzia a cop at the said prison went missing on Wednesday, and all means to get hold of him proved futile.
His wife said she had tried to reach him on several occasions since Wednesday and got no answer.
After reporting the matter at the Nyeri police station a search was conducted and sadly the officer was found dead inside his house.
Mwanzia was lying on the sofa dead with foam oozing from his mouth and Nose, said a police report.
His body was ferried to a Nyeri mortuary awaiting a post-mortem to determine what could have led to his untimely demise.
Recently, the number of innocent Kenyans committing suicide has increased to a worrying trend.
In a report by the DCI, over 400 Kenyans took their lives in the past month for reasons yet to be known.
Depression has also been a thorn in the flesh for quite some time now with a huge number of these suicides and murders being witnessed after the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus in the country.
Furthermore, the deadly virus has also led to a number of worrying deaths where Kenyans were reported to have collapsed and died minutes later.
On the other hand, deaths amongst police officers have been on the rise with questions raised as to what could be happening in the service.
On this particular incident, netizens have questioned how the officer vanished from duty and still died at his residence since Wednesday with no one noticing.
Kenyans have been urged to try and talk things out or seek help when they are overwhelmed with stress.
This will reduce the number of deaths being witnessed on a daily basis around the country.
