Prepare For Heavy Rains in The Following Counties in the Next Seven Days

The Kenya Meteorological Department with their mandate of giving out timely meteorological information has issued the following reports on the expected changes in weather patterns.

According to the information shared on the website, most parts of the country are likely to be sunny and dry. However, rainfall is expected over some parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the South Rift Valley, the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the South Eastern Lowlands, the Northeastern Kenya and the Coast.

DETAILED REGIONAL FORECAST FOR THE PERIOD.

The Lake Victoria Basin, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley and South Rift Valley Regions. Morning are likely to be generally sunny though occasional rains are expected over few places during the first half of the forecast period. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur over several places during the first half of the forecast period reducing to cover few places thereafter. Nights are expected to be partly cloudy but occasional showers may occur over few places.

The North and the Central Rift Valley. Days are likely to be sunny and nights partly cloudy. However, occasional afternoon showers may occur over few places during the first half of the forecast period.

The Northwestern regions. Days are expected to be sunny with nights partly cloudy and occasional afternoon showers over few places.

The Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi County. Cloudy conditions giving way to sunny intervals in the morning. Occasional afternoon showers likely to occur over few places. Nights are expected to be partly cloudy.

The Northeastern regions. Days are likely to be sunny with partly cloudy nights. Occasional afternoon showers are likely to occur over few places during the first half of the forecast period.

The South-eastern Lowlands regions. Days are likely to be sunny and nights partly cloudy with occasional morning and afternoon rains over few places during the first half of the forecast period.

The Coastal regions. Days are expected to be sunny and nights partly cloudy. However, occasional early afternoon showers may occur over few places during the first half of the forecast period.
