A raging fire in Machakos has destroyed properties worth millions after a wholesale store caught fire.
A security guard manning the premises report hearing explosion inside the shop before the fire was spotted coming out the iron roof.
Angry residents have Questioned the emergency response team after they arrived at the scene late.
Turns out the fire brigade had not packed enough water for the job and they were forced to go back for more.
‘Walisema maji imeisha tukashanga kwani hizi magari tunalipia tax haIzinanga maji,’ one local told reporters.
However, the fire was contained but not after the damage had been done Tala residents are asking governor Alfred Mutua to ensure that emergency trucks are enough in the area.
They insist that Tala is a big market and that it generates enough revenue for Machakos county and that such incidents should not be happening.
