Tana River Break its Banks, Motorists Advised to Not Drive in flooded Bridges.

The ongoing rains in different parts of the country has caused floods and many rivers to break their banks. Tana River and which is is the biggest river in the country has recorded the highest water levels this year.

Along the Nairobi Meru highway, where the Tana River crosses the major highway the river is currently having water pass over the bridge. Though little water started the levels have increased and now Motorists are advised to avoid crossing the bridge if the levels increase to levels that they will not be able to access the bridge boundaries.

The higher water levels are associated with the current change in weather pattern due to global warming. Flash floods are also expected in different parts of the country including the capital city. The meteorological department has announced that the rains will continue to fall up to early next year and major lakes will witness a rise in water levels.
