Their has been reported an increament in gender based violence cases in Kenya.

1. Ivy Wangeci.
Ivy Wangeci, a medical student at Moi university was hacked to death by Naftali Kinuthia on 9th April, 2019. Naftali claimed that he had invested money on her but had got nothing in return.
2. Sharon Otieno.
She was murdered by Governor Okoth Obado. Her body was found multilated in the forest. She was pregnant with the governor's child.
3. Monica Kimani.
She was found dead in her bathtub shortly after her return from Juba ,South Sudan. Autopsy revealed she was raped before having her throat slit. Jackie Maribe and Josie Irungu were arrested as suspects.
4. Velvine Nungari.
Velvine was a waitress at Ruiru's Destiny Park . She was found in a room in Sinnot Hotel with a fractured spine and was rushed to Kenyatta University Hospital where she passed on while undergoing treatment. The suspect Joseph Kinyua was arrested but later released.
5. Catherine Nyokabi.
The beautiful mother of one was murdered by her lover Evans Karani who was angry because she wanted to dump him. Her body was found dead in a car in Witethie after it stuck in the mud.
