A 65 years old father and his son 40 years old were found dead three days after they went missing in Gitaru dam.
According to the sources, the father identified as Julius Mwaniki, and his son Stephen Muriithi left their homestead in search of their livestock but they were met by their deaths as their boat capsized in the dam.
The residents of Thagana village in Mbeere have been left with sorrows upon noticing the sudden deaths.
However, the deceased bodies were found floating in the dam where they were spotted by pastoralists who alerted the authorities.
Investigations including the incident are still ongoing.
A resident identified as Sarafino Ndaru claimed that mostly some deaths were caused by the hippos.
However, the family of the deceased is now left in grief for their loved ones as it was so sad.
Their remains are now lying at the Embu referral hospital mortuary.
