Trending Now: Plane Crashes into a Maryland Power transmission tower (Photos)

It's sad to report that a plane has crashed in a high-voltage transmission tower in Maryland, New York. According to the report, this small one-engine plane was boarded by two who have been identified as Patrick Merkel who is the pilot, and Jan Williams who is just a passenger.

The two hung for hours at 100 feet above the ground waiting for a rescue team to save them. According to Pepco, around 85,000 people were left without power for around six hours. Around 125 traffic signals were also not working for there was a total power blackout.

The Montgomery county fire and rescue officials arrived at the scene and rescued the two victims from 100 feet. The main cause of this plane crashing into this power transmission tower has not yet been identified however more investigations are still being carried out by the Montgomery county fire and rescue officials.

The Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security announced The two were saved around 1:01 am. All roads near the site have been blocked as the rescue crew tries their best to retrieve the plane wreckage from the crash scene. Fire trucks are still at the scene to help in putting out the fire Incase it occurs.
