Two family members perished in a fatal Saturday morning road crash in Budaka District, police said.
“The accident at Iki-Iki area along Kamonkoli-Pallisa Road involved a Toyota Mark X and a motorbike possessed by Eddy Isiko, 21, who perished on the spot,” North Bukedi Regional Police Commander, ASP Immaculate Alaso said.
According to police, Isiko was carrying two other occupants plus a 6-year-old Priscilla Taliba who also perished on the spot while 34-four-year-old John Benard Kasaga nursed serious injuries and was rushed to Mbale regional hospital for emergency treatment.
“some of the road crashes occur due to negligence and human errors that can be avoided once we observe laid down traffic regulations,” ASP Alaso observed.
This desk learnt that that the bodies had been transferred to Budaka Health Centre for autopsy.
Both the motorcycle and the vehicle wreckage had been towed to Budaka police station pending IOV inspection.
The police have launched investigations into the alleged incident.
