Hotel attendant whose body was found in suitcase abandoned at Kimbo died of strangulation - autopsy

Hotel attendant whose body was found in a suitcase abandoned at Kimbo in Kiambu County, succumbed to strangulation, an autopsy performed at the City Mortuary on Friday, January 20 reveals.

The postmortem which was performed by Pathologist Dr Simon Omuok also showed that Wambui, 18, was beaten hard on her head with a blunt object.

There were rumours that Esther Wambui was raped and murdered. Vaginal discharge were also picked for more tests to see if she was raped.

Wambui’s spouse, Joseph Ngige, together with her father, Samuel Mbugua, were among the attendees during the postmortem.

The woman’s lifeless body was, on Monday evening, January 17, discovered stashed naked in a black suitcase, and left behind the road. She had a visible deep wound in one of her breast.

The words bwana ya mtu sumu had been written on her palms, thighs and breasts.

Her husband, Ngige, narrated to the police how he accompanied the deceased to work at 5am on Monday, and that he tried to call her on the fateful day but she never picked her phone. This prompted him, to report to her dissapearance on Tuesday, January 18 at Juja Police Station.

Wambui worked as a waitress at a hotel in Ruiru,

where she received a daily pay of Sh300.

Wambui and her lover were staying at Prisons area in Ruiru.
