Police Officer Who Allegedly Sexually Abused a Form 3 Student Arrested in Narok

A police officer from Narok County has been arrested after he allegedly picked up a female juvenile, took her to his house where he defiled her for the whole night.

According to NTV reports, the alleged officer by the name Anthony Leteipa said to have picked up the 16-year-old, a Form three from neighbouring school from Sakuteik Police Station cell and took her to his house within the station’s compound.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss based in Narok South affirm the incident, saying the suspect committed the offense after luring the victim to his house during the night hours when the other officers were not around.

In the morning, around 6am, the police officer returned the victim inside the police cell, the police report states.

“The suspect while on night shift sneaked to the cell and picked the minor, took her to his house within the Police Station where it’s reported that he sexually abused her the whole night and later allowed the minor to go back in the cell,” he said.

DCI reports further revealed that the girl had been taken to the police station for protection after she moved out from her sister’s house in Narok town.

It is alleged that the officer warned her not to reveal the issue to any of her relatives or friends.

Both the minor and the police officer were first taken to Narok Police Station, before they were later taken to Narok Referral Hospital.

“The police officer has been arrested and put in custody and will be arraigned in court on Monday the December 5, 2022,” the report further read.

The minor had been detained alongside another minor in case of children in need of care and protection and were scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday, December 5, 2022.

It is then a team of police officers led by the Deputy Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Narok Police Station was dispatched to Sakutiek Police Station where the incident allegedly took place.

Investigations into the incident were completed and the DCI submitted their file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) for further direction.
