A Police statement indicated that Omar was born and raised in Iftin, Garissa county.

Police are are yet to establish the motive behind Omar's sudden disappearance. However, investigations have been launched to trace his whereabouts.

The police recruits joined the college on April 1.

A majority of the disappearances have been linked to terror probes or business deals gone wrong but families rarely get closure on why their loved ones were abducted and sometimes even killed.
