A motor vehicle mechanic operating a garage at Kaptebengwet shopping centre in Konoin sub count,Bomet county today 1-10-2021 escaped death narrowly after a mini van he was repairing exploded and burst into flames.
The 2 pm incident got many residents of this small shopping located at the edge of the multinational Unilever's tea estate by surprise.Their efforts to extinguished the fire that was consuming the mini van branded with Safaricom colours bore no fruit.
According to confirmed sources to this opera news writer,Mr Otieno was welding the mini van which normally frequent the sleepy township on Fridays because of market day when it burst into flames and no one was injured during the incident that almost brought the businesses to a stand still in the afternoon.
The vehicles was completely reduced to a shell and investigations by police has been launched to established the real cause of the fire.
