Tension High In Kerio After An Attack Where Four People Were Killed And Hundreds Of Livestock Stolen

Tension is high in Kerio Valley after four herders have been killed by bandits leaving several injured.

The attack happened at Kapkobil grazing field where 60 heavily armed bandits suspected to be from their neighbouring county where they took hundreds of livestock.

The Elgeyo Marakwet County Police Commander, Patrick Lumumba stated that the bandits ambushed the herders by shooting them with live bullets.

The bandits have already crossed River Kerio to Baringo County however,the police are hunting them through the help of police in Baringo.

Patrick Lumumba has asked locals to aid by providing necessary information about the bandits an information that will help prevent other attacks.He asked for collaboration from the locals to help reduce the bandits attacks.

According to reports,the bandits were spotted in Kerio Valley before they launched an attack although the locals did not take any action of informing the law enforcers.

Everyday there are attacks where people lose lives and livestock get stolen.The residents are calling for the government to offer protection of their lives and livestock.
