The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has reported a tragic occurrence in Kabete this morning, when a police officer went on a random shooting spree about 3 a.m.
Benson Imbasi, a police officer, began by shooting his wife, Carol Imbasi, in the neck, killing her instantly. He then proceeded to the street and began shooting other people who came in his way.
Three young men who were attending a burial preparation ceremony in Mountain View were among those killed. He then focused on two bodaboda riders, one of whom was up very early distributing bread to various businesses. He died while undergoing treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital, while the other remains critically ill.
Later, the officer turned the loaded AK-47 riffle on himself, killing himself. What led to the officer's heinous deeds of killing anyone on his way to work very early in the morning has yet to be determined.
