Sad news reaching our news desk is that a General Service Unit (GSU) Officer cadet has died while undergoing training.
The sad incident happened at the GSU Embakasi training school on Thursday, May 19, 2022 noon.
According to the reports, the officer was undergoing a swimming lesson session when he drowned and died on the spot.
The news comes as a shock to many with the cadet dying just a month after the police conducted a national recruitment exercise.
The sad event has led to Kenyans questioning the exact force or strategies used during such trainings to a point where one ends up dead.
The national police service, conducts vigorous exercises to recruits that enables them to remain fit and at the same time be able to face challenges that may come up in the line of duty.
The recruits undergo a 15-month basic training which involves theory and practical basis such as crowd control and police practical theory.
