Haiti has been facing a lot of problems, it is barely a month after their president was assassinated, the country is now mourning deaths of over 300l people who have have been killed after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti yesterday, Saturday 14th August, 2021.This comes just days before a tropical storm is expected to make landfall. Drawing from reliable sources, the quake was felt across the Caribbean with people fleeing their homes for fear that buildings might collapse, reports shows that the quake was stronger and closer to the surface than the magnitude 7.1 quake in 2010, that killed 300,000 people. Haiti is a Caribbean country that shares the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic to its east. Though it’s still recovering from a 2010 earthquake, many of Haiti's landmarks dating to the early 19th century remain intact. May the souls of those who dies rest in peace as the a thousand who got injured recover quickly.
