Two Suspects Posing As Police Officers Arrested For Allegedly Conning Motorists In Rongo Town

Two suspects posing as police officers arrested in Rongo town in Migori County for allegedly conning motorists.

The accused persons were identified as Jecton Okach, 34, and Vincent Ewoi, 31, all residents of Rongo town.

They were arrested after police were tipped-off by curious members of the public who lodged their complaints at Rongo town police station about the incident being performed by the suspects.

"The two police impersonators were arrested when taking money and assaulting those who don't have their face masks on. We also recovered two kitchen knives hidden in their pockets," Jecton said.

The two are locked up at Rongo town police station pending their arraignment in court.

They will be arraigned in court on Monday next week and charged with various offences.

The latest development comes only a day when two robbery suspects were gunned down in Misori road while on a planned robbery mission in Akala.

Police are still investigating the matter.
