On Friday, May 20, Mombasa county police arrested a lady from Utange Village, Kisauni sub-county, Mombasa county. The lady was transporting Cocaine-worthy Ksh 100 million street estimation . Nuru Murshid Mahfud had hidden the thirty-five sachets in a suitcase.
The DCI’s Transnational Organized Crimes and Anti-Narcotics unit acted on a followed a small route that led them to a house where 29-year-old Nuru Murshid Mahfud was.
Truth is yet to be determined if the cocaine was for local consumption or was to be transported into another foreign country for consumption.
The 29yr old lady is in police custody as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is still conducting their investigation.
The DCI said that samples of the seized narcotics had been sent to experts at the Chemistry and Toxicology units based at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory, for more tests.
Mombasa county has had several drug trafficking cases as drug traffickers are using the Indian ocean to transport illegal drugs into the country.
