Eliud Kipchoge has gained more respect as a result of the unveiling of murals of the marathon legend by telecommunications company Safaricom at Rupa's Mall in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.
The telco created the artistic representations as a tribute to and celebration of Kipchoge's accomplishments as one of the best marathon runners in history.
I'd want to express my sincere gratitude to Safaricom for considering painting murals of me in Eldoret. This is a fantastic honor for me, and it gives me a lot of drive. Even the younger generation can take inspiration from the idea that if you make a positive contribution to society, people will take notice of you.
Most people agree that Eliud Kipchoge is the best marathon runner ever. With a time of 2:01:09 set at the Berlin Marathon in 2022, he holds the world record for the marathon and is the Olympic champion. He has completed four of the top six fastest marathons in record time and keeps setting new distance records.
I set a new world record for the marathon in Berlin, which made last year quite successful. I'm making preparations for the Boston Marathon in 2023; it takes place in April, and I'm hoping to break a record there," stated Kipchoge.
Safaricom PLC also announced a KSh 1 million donation to the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation at the murals' debut. Additionally, Safaricom will provide 5,000 tree seedlings to help Eliud.
