A 38-year-old man from kombewa took his own life by suicide after he was denied conjugal rights by his wife the following day Monday.
The incident took place at the man's home in kombewa sub-county kisumu county.
The man's family had gone to the garden to weed and he was alone at home when he took the drastic step.
The incident took place at 10.00 am in the morning Wednesday, 24,March 2021.
The man was identified as John omondi. The deceased used to work with the water pipeline and was married to Anita Anyango. Anita hailed from siaya county Bondo sub-county.
According to reports, John who works with the pipeline company argued that he could only enjoy his conjugal rights during the day because of the nature of his work that results to fatigue at night.
While confirming the incident, kombewa police commander Bernard Akach revealed that the body of the deceased was taken to kisumu county referral hospital mortuary for examinations.
Shortly before his death, John left a suicide note on the table. The note said the woman was aware that he needed conjugal rights but nonetheless was continously against it,,demanding to have it at night,police said.
The wife also said after disagreement with th husband on Tuesday, John reportedly left the house in the wee hour and was later in the morning today found hanging on the roof of the kitchen while she was in the garden.
Police said his death remains under investigations pending final medical reports.
Police had registered an abatement to suicide case against the woman.
