Mt Elgon's 'Kinoti' Moved To Samburu North In Mini Reshuffle

After serving residents of Mt Elgon for a period of two years finally the area District Criminal Investigation Boss Bakari Nzovu has been transferred to Samburu North.

During a farewell party held at one of the local joints in Kapsokwony town, Nzovu lauded Mt Elgon residents as hospitable ones and the area as a peaceful.

"Dear friends it has been two years of fruitful efforts, we have achieved a lot together and more to be achieved but deep down my heart I really thank you the people for the support," he said.

He added, "I thank you people for the love you showed me, I know it's not the end we shall still meet elsewhere, let's maintain law and order for our great country, for politicians please conduct peaceful politics,unite our people and cheers,".

Nzovu also urged youths to focus themselves in becoming great citizens instead of engaging in criminal activities and being used by politicians to execute evil missions in the society.

At the same time he lauded his team of dedicated officers for the successful operations they have conducted in the mountanious region.

"We have achieved so much for this period I have been here and this I have to appreciate my team because if I say I did it alone I will be lying, kudos team!" said Mr Nzovu. 

Different buddies celebrated Nzovu's presence in Mt Elgon saying he has been the best DCI the region had ever have and they will dearly miss him.

"I am here speaking on behalf of my boss the sub county police commander Mr Mugo James who is on leave and as well as the OCS Kapsokwony police station,I have known mr Nzovu for the last 7 months i have been here as the OCS as the coolest investigator and the most straight forward officer in service," he said.

He added, "As you are moving to a new station i know it's not going to be tough for you there because you are a strong officer,".

Timothy Cheshari, a close ally to Nzovu thanked all friends who turned out to the farewell party and wishing him well in his new work station in Baragoi.

Benson Ndiwa a retired officer stated that Nzovu was a God sent officer and who has been in the fore front in maintaining peace in the region and down to earth officer who had no boundaries and smiled to both rich and the poor.

"I have been in the service for a long time, never brushed shoulders with citizens in this mountain, Nzovu is extremely a discipline officer in his responsibilities and for sure we don't know if this mountain will ever possess such like an officer," he said.

Mr Nzovu has achieved a lot in Mt Elgon Among them recovery of illegal arms, successful investigative operations that have led to arrest and detainment of criminal gangs and guaranteeing citizens peaceful co existence.

Mr. Joseph Libesa from Bungoma takes over from Nzovu.
