Expect Heavy Rains as From Tomorrow In The Following Parts of the Country, Met Department Warns

Kenya Meteorological Department has warned Kenyans against heavy rainfall that is expected over several parts of the country. According to the report shared through their official social media platforms, the Highlands West of Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the South Rift Valley including Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, Kericho, Nakuru, Bometi, Kisumu, Migori, Homabay and Nandi are expected to receive rains as from tomorrow until Friday next week.

Report indicates that mornings are likely to be generally sunny. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected over several parts during the first half of forecast period period increasing to cover several places thereafter. Nights are expected to be partly cloudy but occasional showers may occur over places. Maximum temperatures are likely to drop to about 22 degrees Celsius in Suba but may rise to 31 degrees Celsius in Kisumu. Maximum temperatures are expected to be low as 8 degrees in Narok and 13 degrees in Kakamega.

The North and Central Rift Valley including Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Baringo and Nakuru Counties. Days are expected to receive sunny intervals and nights partly cloudy. However, occasional afternoon showers may occur over few places.

North Western Kenya especially Turkana and Samburu counties are expected to receive sunny intervals and nights partly cloudy. However, morning rains and afternoon showers may occur over few places during first half of the forecast period.

The Highlands East Rift Valley including Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi counties. Mornings are likely to be generally cloudy, with occasional light rains giving way to sunny intervals. Afternoon showers are likely to occur over few places. Nights are expected to be partly cloudy but occasional showers may occur over several places.
