Yesterday in statement to members of the public, the National Police Service through its spokesperson revealed that the body had shared intelligence of planned heckling and disruption at Kondele roundabout by rowdy youths with officers in Ruto's escort team. The body blamed the DP's escort of ignoring the information, went on to hold the rally at Kondele and as a result suffered heckling.
Today, the deputy seemed to be keen enough and cancelled a planned empowerment youth programe scheduled at Posta Grounds in Migori after word spread that rowdy youths had gathered themselves in groups with an aim of heckling the DP and disrupting his rally.
The Migori county Governor Okoth Obado who had accompanied the DP had earlier been heckled by youths at a stopover forcing him to cut short his speech. Word followed that more heckling was planned at their next stopover at Posta Grounds. The DP was supposed to hold a really at Posta Grounds to empower groups of youths who had invited him.
The DP had enjoyed a smooth trail in Homabay and part of Migori county yesterday evening and early. Political leaders and poll observers have raised concern over rising campaign violence.
