On 16th May 2022, Kenyans were shocked by the news of the daylight shooting of Samuel Mugo Muvota by unknown Person. Immediately after the tragic incident at the Mirema area, the police officers gazetted the prime suspect (Dennis Karani Mugo) and issued the warrant of arrest.
Today, the prime suspect has surrendered himself to the Directorate of Criminal Investigating (DCI) headquarters along Kiambu Road in the company of his lawyer.
Speaking to the media, the the prime suspect in the daylight shooting of Samuel Mugo Muvota in Mirema a week ago has narrated his relationship with the deceased, saying that he was even shocked to hear about the shooting news associating him with the killings.
According to the suspect, he only met the deceased twice; once in Meru in a wedding of their friend in 2018 and in secondly in Nairobi last year March.
Karani said he has an ongoing fraud-related case but defended himself saying he did not kill Mugo who has since been named as a hardcore thug by detectives
