Road is one of the major means of transport used in Kenya. Government has heavily invested in safeguarding this sector through deployment of security and surveillance officers to ensure that traffic laws are upheld. Today, Kenya National Highways Authority said that they are tightening the noose on overloading in a bid to safeguard roads in the country.

They said that a truck with an overload of 24. 7 tonnes was detained at Mlolongo along Mombasa Road. They revealed that the overloaded truck attracted a fine of Ksh 13.7 Million. The truck was fined under the East Africa Community Vehicle Load Control Act, 2016.
