Mzee Bernard Kathanga is the founder of Cooperative movement and he was very active in matters to do with national duties. Throughout his life, he was committed as a public servant hence culminating to his Shujaa Award from President Uhuru Kenyatta to during last year's Mashujaa day celebrations.
Anne Waiguru has described Mzee Bernard Kathanga as an ardent supporter who she will truly miss. She has also send her condolences to the family of Mzee Kathanga and the people of Kirinyaga as they come to term of what had just happened.
However, the cause of his untimely death has not been mentioned with more information expected to be conveyed as the plan for his burial continues. A huge number of Kenyans have joined hands with Anne Waiguru to convey their condolences to the family of Mzee Kathanga and all the people of Kirinyaga County. May his family find peace in this difficult times as the deceased rests in peace.
