The man held at Matuu police station is said to have stabbed the 21 year old girl with a knife in Matuu market.
According to acting Yatt sub county commander of police Boniface Kavoo the man and the deceased had broken up.
However the man identified as Paul David did not like the idea of them breaking up and attacked the woman at her rented house.
At the house he found the woman with another man where he took a knife and stabbed her federally in the stomach.
After committing the act he ran to Matuu police station and wrote a report stating that he had been attacked by another man, claims that the police found were fake.
The body of the woman was moved to Matuu level four hospital mortuary for preservation awaiting post moterm and burial arrangements.
The suspect is currently being questioned by the police.
