Tears As Edwin Chiloba's Body Heads For Burial, He'll Be Buried Contrary To Kalenjin Customs

Friends, family, and relatives have picked the body of the slain LGBTQ activist, model, and fashionista from the morgue taking it to his home for burial.

Chiloba's family was at the MTRH morgue in Eldoret to pick up his body ahead of the burial later today at his  Sergoit village in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Contrary to Kalenjin customs where a body is buried a day after being taken from the morgue, Chiloba will be buried the same day as when he was removed from the morgue.

His family has revealed that everything is ready for the burial ceremony today. His friends, family, and relatives could not hold back their tears as they picked their kin's body.

"We are now heading home straight for a family service then the burial ceremony will follow," his cousin Gladys Chiri said.

Chiloba met his untimely death while in the company of his roommate Jacktone Odhiambo. Jacktone has been arrested as the key suspect in Chiloba's murder. 4 other suspects have also been arrested.

Government pathologists revealed that Chiloba died of luck of oxygen. His body was found stashed in a metallic box.

Until his death, Chiloba was a student at the University of Eldoret studying Fashion, he was also very vocal in fighting for the LGBTQ members in Kenya.
