The arrest of popular comedian Eric Omondi sparked chaos at the city stadium. Omondi, a well-known and well-liked Kenyan entertainer, was reportedly arrested for allegedly attempting to distribute flour to those in attendance. This reportedly caused a commotion in the crowd, resulting in a chaotic situation. People in the stands were seen attempting to flee the stadium, causing a stampede that added to the chaos and confusion. Many of those who remained inside the stadium were unable to flee, with some being injured in the process.
Emergency services were then called to the stadium to help control the chaos. The police used tear gas to try to restore order.
