There was drama in chaka Nyeri county when an armed Robber tried to steal from a passersby on Tuesday at 8 O'Clock
The whole incident began when the victim by the name Irungu was going home in the evening after the day's struggles.
On his way home, he was accosted by a gun-wielding thug who demanded Money from him.
According to the report by the Police, Irungu gave out the only KSH 200 he had but the Robber could not hear any of the that.
"Irungu obliged and when the thug demanded money, he fished out the only Ksh200 note that he had and handed it to him. The thug demanded more money as Irungu pleaded for his life, saying that’s all he had remaining from his day’s work," reads part of the DCI report.
To show Irungu that he was serious, he put his gun down and started ransacking the Pockets of the victim who was now lying down without knowing the plans in Irungu's mind.
It was at this juncture that Irungu took the opportunity to get hold of the gun that had been put down to the chargrin of the thug.
A scuffle ensued between the two as the Robber tried to gain control over his gun in vain.
The passersby who witnessed the incident alerted the police who moved with speed to arrest the situation.
However, the thug managed to Flee leaving the gun behind as police launched a man hunt for the suspect.
The investigations have since revealed that the gun was stolen from Nairutia Police station in Kieni in April 15 2022.
