Powerful Lessons About Life From Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi's Story on his Encounter With Corona

Meru county governor Kiraitu Murungi yesterday narrated his encounter with Corona virus through an emotional story that changed his life completely.

From his several trips to the hospital,his admission into the hospital until he was discharged Kiraitu confessed to have learnt alot about being himself and focusing on his life more than even politics.

His journey with Corona happened in three phases.In the first phase he was in self denial where he would assume his health status and work until he couldn't work anymore due to extreme fatigue.The second phase happened when he had to accept he was sick and allow experts to treat him in the hospital with his condition becoming more worse.The third phase saw him get isolated at home since he was still positive of the virus even after being discharged from hospital.

This last phase is the one that helped him come into self realization as it gave him more time to reflect on his life, political journey and sacrifices he has made to make others happy forgetting himself.

From the lengthy narration one can derive powerful lessons as outlined by the Meru county kingpin who has been in politics for a very long time now.Here are some of the lessons;

1.Had I died of coronavirus,I would have died alone.All that noise and bustle of politics would continue without me.

2.We are permanently on stage,making impressions,seeking to be liked and approved by others.We live a life of endless pretences. We are too psychologically terrified to think and act independently.

3.When you fall sick or you die, suddenly you become everyone’s friend even to your opponents.

4.Politics had robbed me of my life and my voice.I will go slow on politics.

5.Life is not short,We shorten our lives by doing irrelevant things.
