Loss for Business Owners In Makutano After Flames Destroy Businesses

On Sunday morning, hapless business owners in Makutano town, succumbed to what was a raging fire ravaging their businesses and burning to them to the ground as the owners watched painfully.

The owners of the business owners in Makutano town, West Pokot County took a punch to the heart when the inferno, said to have started from a welding business, destroyed most property and business products of villagers. The businesses razed by the flames include; hotels, charcoal shops, welding shops and wines and spirits stalls. The owners cried foul saying the county government did not provide the fire trucks to put the fire out in time to salvage anything.

One business owner, Jane Nafula through K24 digital said, "Am running a hotel of which I had invested more than Ksh200,000 after taking a loan. We blame the county government for failing to dispatch the fire extinguisher vehicle to put off the fire."
