Armed gunmen on Friday morning reportedly gained forceful entrance into a girls' school in Jangebe, in Zamfara, Nigeria. The raid ended with hundreds of learners being abducted.
Close sources indicate that at least three hundred girls cannot be traced following the incident.
Other students escaped the abduction by hiding from the bandits. During the incident, the bandits fired in the air to scare anyone, before eloping with the abductees.
After restoring calmness, only 54 learners could be accounted for, with efforts are still ongoing to see if others can be traced from their hideouts.
The raid comes barely a week after another 27 students were abducted yet from another secondary school in Niger state.
About seven years ago, Boko Haram terrorists trended globally after 276 girl students were abducted from a secondary school located in Chibok town.
Nigeria has for years been dominated by Boko Haram terrorists who have continued causing untold suffering among the citizens, with some even losing their lives.
