The president directed that the curfew should be lifted with immediate effect and that marked the end of the 10PM to 4AM curfew that had been there since 2020.
Later on in the evening, the National Police Service said that the measures on drinking times still remained that bars should close at precisely 7PM.
This afternoon, the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Mutahi Kagwe, has issued a new directive on the closing of bars and eateries across the country.
The Cabinet Secretary says that bars and restaurants can remain open until 11 PM every day and this will come as great news to a lot of people in the country who had complained about the closure of the bars.
This puts an end to the curfew rules which have been there for many months and Businesses can start picking from where they fell off.
