A Nissan matatu from Homa Bay was involved in the accident when it hit directly with an approaching fuel truck.

Eliud Onyango, the county's director of disaster management, claims that only one victim has not yet been identified after three days of identification efforts.

Onyango claimed that a male passenger's body is still unidentified and waiting to be claimed in the mortuary.

Onyango further advised any families who might be searching for missing members to attend to the mortuary and aid in the identification of the dead.
