Onserio, the chief of staff for the Standard Media Group, was reportedly arrested on Sunday, December 18, while allegedly threatening the public with a grenade.
The iconic Nairobi CBD church's second basement is where the incident is said to have happened.Detectives charged the former NTV anchor with neglecting to tell the security personnel that he had a flash-bang training system grenade on him.
The prosecutor who filed charges against him at the Kahawa Courts claims that he additionally neglected to present a document proving that he was legally the owner of the grenade.The report also stated that the journalist was unable to offer convincing justifications for why he had the flash-bang grenade.
"A multi-agency team arrived on the spot in response to intelligence about a terror threat, and they apprehended the respondent.According to the investigation, "He had not declared to the security officers that he was in possession of the Flashbang training system grenade."The case is under investigation.
