The people of Laikipia have continued complaining over increased insecurity in the area. This happens despite government promises to grant them security. Women have emerged to be the most heartbroken gender by what is happening in the area. Speaking to the nation, one of the ladies said that they are tired of burying their people.
Lucia Wanjiru said that the government is promising them security yet they are burying their sons and daughters daily. The bandits come and kill before going away with large beards of cattle. The lady said that the government has become so reluctant on restoring peace in the area making them doubt government's willingness to protect them.
Wanjiru told The Nation that the person who died in the skirmishes was the family bread winner. Unfortunately, all the cows owned by the family were taken by the bandits leaving her with nothing. The son is gone together with what he used to support his family.
