News of the murder of Kenyan-born Bahranian Athlete Damaris Muthee Mutua has led to the key suspect of her murder to be identified as an Ethiopia Athlete Koki Tufa Folie.
Reliable sources revealed that Koki Tufa who is also a long-distance runner had come in Kenya to visit Damaris who was living in a rented house at Lilies estate, Iten before she was found dead.
Tufa is alleged to have called one of his friends in Iten town informing him of what he had done before fleeing to Ethiopia.
According to Keiyo North Police boss, Tom Makori, Tufa who was last seen in the company of Mutua might have killed her and hidden her body in her room. Photos Courtesy of Koki Tufa Folie Facebook page.
The friend who was contacted by Tufa then called the police who rushed to the scene of the crime and found her body which had already started decomposing.
Mutua's murder adds to the list of Kenyan female athletes who have died at the hands of their lovers. The latest murder before Mutua was the murder of Agnes Tirop who was found dead in a room after she was stabbed severally by her estranged husband.
Sleuths have launched a manhunt for Tufa and hoping to catch him soon so that he can shed light on her murder and face the law.
