Kenya Power Lightening Company have schedule a very long electricity blackout in some places on Sunday so as to allow the KPLC personnels Carry out series of services like; Grid maintenance, Installation of new project to mention a few.
The Kenya Power usually give notices about the planned electricity shutdowns as per the Electric Power Rules. The company usually carry out upgrades and maintenance of electricity supply networks periodically
The power blackout notices are usually given under rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules which states that it is necessary to interrupt supply periodically in order to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power supply systems. It's also necessary to interrupt supply of electricity periodically in order to carry out installations of electricity to new customers as well as replacing the electricity lines that pass through areas where construction of roads is taking place.
