Detectives are investigating an incident where the body of a primary school teacher was found floating in a borehole in Kona Shopping Centre, Transmara. The 39-year-old is said to have been engaged in domestic wrangles with his wife before leaving a suicidal note.
Sub-County Police Commander Pius Mbithi confirmed the incident and said the body was found will villagers who went to draw water. He further added that the deceased left a suicidal note indicating telephone contacts of his wife and where his body would be found.
“The deceased left a note at his desk at the school indicating the contacts of his wife and where his body would be found,” said Mbithi adding that passersby saw a coat, shoes and a mobile phone next to the borehole at around 9 am.
The body was moved to the Kegonga mortuary in neighbouring Kisii County after police were alerted by the passersby. Investigations have started to determine what could have led to the demise.
