It is reported that the so called Kanjo askaris will soon be called the county constables, the name actually looks more presentable and displays some kind of respect as police officers.
On most cases, these are the officers who ensures that kenyans in the country pay tax. They are normally seen in towns collecting taxes from business women and mens in the town and markets.
“We are equally embarrassed because professionalism is low and we admit. That is why there is need to replace the current titles and call them constables and other respectable titles,” he said.
“We have revitalized the officers’ training school at Dagoretti where we will use to train the officers going forward,” he said.
