It is a sad mood in the south rift region today after two people were confirmed dead. According to the area chief, a middle aged woman and her 3year old kid slipped and drown in a water stream located in the region. The two were reported to drown while crossing Kiplesan water stream that was full to its brim. 
According to Kiplabotwo location chief Mr. Stanley Towett, the deceased lady has been identified as Mrs. Gladys Chelule. Together with her daughter, the victims drowned on the night of Saturday 28th February, 2022 while on their way home. The two had attended a celebration event of a newborn baby in the area. Further details reveal that the deceased might have underestimated the strength of the raging waves. Their bodies were swept more than 60 meters from the accident scene where they were found trapped in tree branches. The bodies have been ferried to Longisa hospital mortuary.
