President William Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto joined by DP Rigathi Gachagua and his wife Dorcas Rigathi arrived in Uhuru gardens for mashujaa day celebrations.

Mashujaa was launched in the year 2008 to celebrate the heroes of the country, during this days several heroes are recognised and celebrated during the event whereby the people of Kenya have been asked to reconsider the information to help protect the environment by planting trees in their areas.
The head of state while addressing the public during mashujaa day celebrations disclosed that the Mukuru kwa Njenga houses will be cheaper, he announced that the bedsitters rent will be ksh 3000, one bedroom house rent will be ksh 5000 while two bedroom house will be ksh 6500. Mostly it will benefit those who stays around there. 
Though attendance today was quite low as people seem to be busy working to get food and basic needs, the economy is alarming that can't allow celebrations,one social media user said.
